BREAKING NEWS: The Dolphins are reportedly not displaying significant interest in an offensive line prospect.

The Miami Dolphins concluded the previous season with a commendable 11-6 record, yet skepticism lingered about their legitimacy as Super Bowl contenders. Despite boasting one of the NFL’s most potent and fleet-footed offensive units, there remain areas for enhancement, particularly the offensive line.

With the 21st pick in the upcoming draft, the Dolphins appear uninterested in selecting offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson from the University of Oregon, as per FinsXtra reports. Powers-Johnson, who secured the Rimington Trophy last season for being the top center in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of NCAA football, significantly aided quarterback Bo Nix, enabling him to establish the NCAA’s single-season completion rate record at 77.4 percent in 2023.

The deficiencies in Miami’s offensive line are exacerbated by concerns surrounding quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s multiple concussions in 2022 and ongoing worries about his well-being. Although Tagovailoa enjoyed a productive 2023 campaign, earning his maiden Pro Bowl selection, lingering doubts persist about his status as an above-average quarterback, prompting calls for an upgrade to propel the Dolphins forward.

Their victory over only one team with a winning record last season further fueled perceptions of Tagovailoa’s inadequacy and the Dolphins’ success being akin to a mirage in the desert.
