Fans expressed frustration after the Champions League quarter-finals, as both Real Madrid hosting Manchester City and Arsenal welcoming Bayern Munich took place simultaneously. Jamie Carragher has passionately urged UEFA to stagger the kick-off times to avoid such clashes in the future.

The opening night of the quarter-finals saw an exhilarating start with five goals scored within the first 20 minutes across both ties. Manchester City took an early lead against Real Madrid, only for Los Blancos to quickly respond with goals from Rodrygo and a lucky own-goal from Ruben Dias. Despite stunning strikes from Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol for City, the match ended in a draw with Federico Valverde’s volley ensuring parity at the Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, at the Emirates, Bukayo Saka scored the opener for Arsenal before Bayern Munich exploited defensive vulnerabilities to equalize through Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane’s penalty. Despite Leandro Trossard’s second-half goal, the game ended in a draw, leaving Saka frustrated after being denied a last-minute penalty claim and Thomas Tuchel furious over Gabriel’s unpunished handball.

Carragher voiced his disappointment on Twitter, calling for UEFA to stagger the kick-off times to allow fans to fully enjoy both games without having to split their focus.
